BUDDHA RELIGION

·         The founder of Buddha Religion was Gautama Buddha belong from (SAKYA KSHATRIYA), born in 563 BC in Nepal at Kapilvastu in Lumbini Village on the Vaisakha Purnima.

·         The Real name of Gautama Buddha was “SIDHARTHA” Other name which were famous are : Thathagad, Sakmuni, Konakawan & Kanakmuni.

·         He Died at the age of 80 in 483 BC at Kushinagar (capital of Mall Mahajapada) popularly known as “Mahaparinirvana”.

·         Father- Suddhodhana                       

·         Mother- Mahamaya (princess of Kosala Dynesty)

·         Step Mother- Mahaprajapati Gautami (after early death of Mahamaya looked after)

·         Wife- Yasodhara

·         Son – Rahul

·         Horse – Kandhak

·         Teacher- Alar Kalam

·         At early age in 16 he got married and at the age of 29 he left  Home (Renounced Home) *(called “MAHABHINISKRAMANA)  after 7 year at his age of 35 under a Pipal Tree at URUVELLA (BODH GAYA) bank of Niranjana (falgu) river  he found/got “Nirvan” (GYAN).

·         He gave his first speech in Varanashi UP which also called “cardle of Buddhism”  (near Sarnath)in PALI language to his FIVE deciples called “DHARMACHAKRA Pravartan”.

·         Buddha gave his maximum Speech at SRAVASTI (Capital of Kaushal Mahajanpada).

·         In BAMIYAN world’s largest monolithic statue of Buddha has been installed.

·         Buddha means “the enlightened one”.

·         BUDDHA CHARITA was written by ASVAGHOSHA.

·         Buddha was elevated to the position of God by the time of Kanishka of Kushan Dynasty.

·         Where Buddha attained enlightenment at Bodh GAYA Mahabodhi temple was constructed.

·         CHAITYA- Is a place of worship

·         VIHARA- Is a living place for Buddhist saints.

·         Lord Buddha is also known as the light of Asia.
